Ordering with Self-Managed NDIS Funding
If you self-manage your NDIS plan, you’re in control of your funding. You pay for products directly and claim reimbursement from the NDIA through the myplace portal.
Supply Med makes this straightforward — pay at checkout, receive a compliant tax invoice, and submit it for reimbursement.
How It Works
1. Browse and add to cart Shop as normal and add the products you need to your cart.
2. Pay at checkout Select any standard payment method — credit card, debit card, or PayPal. You pay upfront.
3. Receive your tax invoice Once your order is confirmed, we email you a detailed tax invoice with everything the NDIA requires for reimbursement.
4. Claim reimbursement Log in to the NDIA myplace portal at myplace.gov.au, submit your claim, and attach your Supply Med invoice.
5. NDIA processes your claim The NDIA typically processes reimbursement claims within 3–5 business days of submission.
Your Invoice
Your Supply Med invoice includes everything needed for an NDIA reimbursement claim:
- Supplier name and ABN
- Itemised product list with descriptions
- Unit prices and quantities
- GST status
- Total amount payable
Keep a copy of every invoice for your records. The NDIA may request documentation during audits.
What to Check Before You Order
Self-managed participants are responsible for ensuring purchases align with their NDIS plan and goals. Before ordering, confirm:
- The product is reasonable and necessary under your plan
- You have sufficient funds in the relevant support category (typically Core Supports — Consumables, Category 03)
- The product supports your NDIS goals
Supply Med cannot advise on individual funding eligibility. If you’re unsure, check with your support coordinator before placing your order.
Keeping Your Records
As a self-managed participant you are responsible for maintaining financial records of all NDIS spending. We recommend:
- Saving every Supply Med invoice to a dedicated folder
- Reconciling purchases against your plan budget regularly
- Keeping records for a minimum of 5 years in line with NDIA requirements
Not Self-Managed?
- Plan-managed? — Your plan manager pays on your behalf. See our [Plan-Managed Orders page].
- Agency-managed? — We are not NDIS-registered and cannot process agency-managed funding.
