KIS Alginate Dressing
KIS Alginate is a calcium alginate dressing that forms a soft, cohesive gel when it comes into contact with wound exudate. During this process, excess exudate is effectively absorbed. Algisite M utilizes the proven benefits of moist wound healing, promoting faster recovery—even in difficult wounds.
When applied to a wound, an ion exchange occurs between the calcium in the dressing and sodium in the exudate, forming a soluble calcium–sodium alginate gel. The release of free calcium ions into the wound can enhance the clotting cascade and help reduce minor bleeding.
This interaction with wound exudate creates a protective, non-adherent gel that maintains a moist wound healing environment.
